If you’re looking for eco-friendly upholstery fabric, then look no further than online shop Rubie Green. The shop is run by Domino contributor Michelle Adams, who while working on the magazine’s inaugural “green issue,” realized no one was making eco-friendly textiles in classic prints. She saw an opportunity to combine her two passions: design and sustainability. So, in 2007 she left the magazine to start Rubie Green.

All of Rubie Green’s upholstery fabrics are made of 100% certified organic cotton, which is whitened without bleach and printed domestically with water-based, non-toxic inks that contain no VOCs. This printing process is actually so water efficient that the factory where it’s printed uses just one gallon of water per day!
